Cancer diagnosis, no matter what the stage is shocking. As soon as I received the first chemo infusion treatment, I realized the quality of my life, no matter how long it would be, had been drastically compromised. After six months of reeling from the stunning effects of chemo, with none of them can slowing the cancer growth, but all of them impacting my body as the warnings of side effects became reality, Through genomic testing, it was determined that my body is resistant to chemo drugs. There have been many other side effects of radiation and several surgical procedures, in addition to the mastectomy.
      My precious friend told me I should try acupuncture. I visited with Dr. Li, and found that his training and experience include pathology, and oncology, not only from China, but also in the United States. Dr. Li explained the procedure and didn’t flinch or show any shock at the way I looked, the hesitation in my speech when I forgot words or thoughts. After several treatments, I experienced a reduction in headaches, much clearer focus and orientation and as time passed, the sensitivity returned to my hands and feet, and my hair began to grow back healthier than it had been before. I have lost the vision in one eye and 50% in the other, but Dr. Li has stepped up the procedures and reduced the pain and inflammation. The cancer has moved to the skin like a blanket—and Dr. Li stepped up again with expanded locations.
Throughout the three-year journey, Dr. Li has skillfully and with wisdom, performed the acupuncture procedures necessary to restore healthy cells and allow my whole body’s strength and immune system to increase its ability to fight and continue this journey. Every challenge that I face, he addresses with care and  consistence, always encouraging me not to give up the fight and maintain mental fortitude.
       My many other doctors and specialists that have provided care for me, have initially been surprised and doubtful of the benefits of acupuncture. Now, after three years, and them fully aware of my prognosis, they, without exception, send Dr. Li their regards and express a greater appreciation for acupuncture and its positive results, not only with cancer, but with the health of my whole body. They are always surprised that I am still working (only took off 10 days when I had the mastectomy), still exercising and walking, and continuing to believe in miracles. God has answered my prayers for wisdom, knowledge and understanding continually, and especially through Dr. Li.

 I first saw Dr Li in November 2015.  I was suffering from a nerve disorder called Trigeminal Nueralgia for over 4 years.  The only effective treatment I had found up to this point was use of an anti seizure drug call Tegretol.  The drug relieved the pain somewhat however the side effects were almost as bad as the nerve pain.  I was drowsy, low energy, migrane like headaches and moody and basically a different person while on the Tegretol.  I was desperate following Thanksgiving weekend and was referred to Dr. Li by a good friend at work.  I left after my first appointment experiencing immediate relief and felt hopeful for the first time in 4 years.  Since that first visit the pain has continually declined while I continually reduced the dosage of the Tegretol.  The withdraw effects of the Tegretol magnified the negative side effects however Dr. Li encouraged me to stay the course.  As of 2 weeks ago I am 100% off of the drug with virtually no pain and no side effects.  Thank you Dr. Li

I wasn't sure what acupuncture would do but with my husband's encouragement, I thought I might as well try. I still can't explain how it works, but know it does. Dr. Li has been very patient with my skepticism and his goal to "make me happy." I still take Tegretal, only because I'm afraid not to, and just a low dose. I told my Neurologist about having Acupuncture and the relief it has given me. He has told another patient who suffers from TN how it has helped me. I will be approaching my one-year anniversary of treatment with Dr. Li. I started acupuncture with Dr. Li in October 2015 after my first chemo treatment for early stage breast cancer. I had heard from my support group that I should seek acupuncture to help with side effects I was having. I felt uncomfortable, sick and dealing with hormonal changes. I have to say, my treatment went a lot better mentally and physically after I started my acupuncture treatments. The nerve pain, infection prevention, mental state and nausea were well managed and under control as I was receiving acupuncture treatments two to three times a week during the weeks after each chemo round. My hair is also coming back strong and healthy as the type of chemo drug given to me is known to slow hair growth or cause permanent hair loss.

Now my quality of life has improved greatly after my cancer treatment and acupuncture care with Dr. Li. I also recently experienced a minor battle with lymphadema and Dr. Li was there again to help manage my circulation and reduce the inflammation. I continue to see Dr Li to improve any lingering symptoms and help me maintain a healthier quality of life.  Although I had tried acupuncture (with good results) before, I began going to Dr. Li approximately two years ago for shoulder and hip pain. Unfortunately, orthopedic doctors would only recommend cortisone shots which only helped temporarily (if at all). After only one session with Dr. Li, I was much improved. After a few sessions of traditional acupuncture, I asked him about cupping. (My previous acunpuncturist had used cupping.) He agreed, and the cupping accelerated the healing process even more. Today I feel great, and can even swing a golf club again! Oh, and Dr. Li also treated my allergies as well.

I have had extremely painful sciatica pain and hip bursitis for 5 years. It got to the point where I wasn't going anywhere anymore because when I did, I would be up all night with throbbing pain. I honestly thought I would be in a wheelchair in a few years and I just turned 50. I have tried steroid injections, physical therapy, and chiropractic care. None of these worked. I was thinking about having surgery, but have read that many people end up in even more pain afterward. My friend's mom recommended Dr. Li, who treated her for a very painful condition. She no longer needs to take some very harsh medicine and her pain is gone. I have been seeing Dr. Li since July now. For the first 6 weeks I went 2x. Then I went 1x for another 6 weeks. Now I am going every other week and should be able to go once a month soon. It took about 4 weeks for my pain to start going away. After a few more weeks, I was completely pain free, just really stiff. Now 4 months later I rarely have pain and occasional stiffness-usually when I do something to aggregate it. As a medical physician myself, I am very aware that there are some conditions that are difficult to treat with Western/allopathic medicine. Over the years, when I have confronted these limitations myself, I have tried acupuncture.

A few years ago I began have severe neck and shoulder pain as well as tingling and numbness in my arms due to degenerative disc in my neck. Two surgeons suggested that I retire as a flight attendant. Needless to say I became quite concerned. I never really felt well because there was constantly a wearing ache in my neck and shoulder.

I highly recommend Dr Li and acupuncture. 8 yrs ago, I had a red eye and was diagnosed with episcleritis. I went to 3 eye doctors (including a specialist). I was on steroid drops for 2 years before it finally went away. This spring my red eye came back; I went to the doctor and they prescribed steroids again. I didn't want to go down that path again, so I made an appointment with  Dr Li and after a few acupuncture sessions, my red eye is gone.

While participating in a Ninja competition (think American Ninja Warrior), I strained a ligament in my right arm from my bicep down into my forearm.  After two weeks of rest and no relief in pain, I began going to a chiropractor for A.R.T. (Auto Release Technique) to help heal it.  Well six weeks later, with no relief in my pain, the doctor suggested that I would need to get a cortisone shot to calm the inflammation.  I'm more of a natural person:  if I'm sick, I do not rush to a doctor for medicine, I wait to see if my body can heal itself.  So getting a cortisone shot was an absolute last resort method for me. 

I knew that a friend was sending her daughter to Dr. Li (a gymnastics teammate of my daughter's) for some of her ailments, so I contacted her for his information.  Within three sessions (in one week), my pain had already lessened!  My arm still hurt, but not every day and not nearly as much!  Every week my pain diminished.  The wintergreen scented oil that Dr. Li uses and recommends, helped calm the inflammation throughout the day and night.  Now I'm back to lifting weights with no pain at all. 

When I first met with Dr. Li, I had him run his diagnostic test on me - I suffer from outdoor allergies and see an immunologist for them.  I had read that acupuncture can help lesson allergies and was curious.  In addition, I have food allergies, poor digestion, and hormone imbalances.  His diagnostic test found all of these issues - so now he is focusing the acupuncture on helping my body heal these other things.

 

Dr. Li and his staff are very professional and friendly.   I've never had to wait very long - he runs on time for appointments.   I highly recommend him to anyone who is considering acupuncture.

I met with Dr. Li. He explained how my body was severely out of balance and I needed to eat or the outcome would be critical. He also told me he could help me but it would take some time. I began treatment that day and returned at least 3 time per week. I began to feel like a person again, my appetite increased as did my energy level. Dr. Li saved me...

Six years later here I am again calling Dr. desperately needing help with a chronic and very inflammatory skin condition of 2 years duration. I was scared. Once again he told me he could help me....I felt like I had come home. I knew he was the only one who could clear my skin and get my body back into balance. Dr. Li has given my daughter her normal teenage life back. For almost 2 years she had thrown up multiple times a week, sometimes daily.  We had consulted with our family practice doctor and seen a gastroenterologist who after many test diagnosed her with irritable bowel syndrome. Acupuncture may seem scary at first if you don't like the sight of needles, but Dr Li knows exactly what he's doing and can get the job done. I pulled my back just days before I was to walk the stage for graduation & I was unable to even walk on my own. After just one session, the pain immediate started fading.
